Legislative measures
In Zongo the Court observed that the state had adopted a number of legal measures to
guarantee the right to have one’s cause heard by an independent and impartial judge and that
there was no violation of article 1 of the Charter for lack of adoption of legislative measures
(Beneficiaries of late Norbert Zongo, Abdoulaye Nikiema alias Ablasse, Ernest Zongo and
Blaise Ilboudo & The Burkinabe human and peoples’ rights movement v Burkina Faso,
